- Please join me in getting to know this mom of the month, Taylor. You’ll see her on Saturdays and races with her cheerful daughter, sometimes carrying her in her back. She is always smiling with a great attitude at many of our classes. The instructors love seeing her.
- Tell us about your family!
- It’s me and my husband of almost 5 years, Michael, but I call him “Moss”. Together, we have our sweet daughter, Riley, who is two and a half now.
- Current/previous career?
- I am the diabetes social worker at University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center. I help all pediatric and adult patients with any barriers to succeed in managing their diabetes.
- What does motherhood mean to you?
- To me, motherhood means unconditional. I just love my little one regardless if she smiled or screamed at me. I’m counting down the minutes until bedtime while also staring at the baby monitor for her to wake up. I love pouring my unconditional love into help forming this human to their own self. With just a dash of stress.
- Favorite local spot?
- Maya Del Sol. I will always be down for the nachos and a marg on their patio.
- How did you find Fit4Mom?
- Very few of my friends had children when I had Riley. And all of those few friends didn’t even live in the same state so I felt like I needed some local mom friends for support. I signed up shortly after I had Riley. It took me awhile to get the courage to show up but I’m so glad I eventually did.
- What's the best part of Fit4Mom?
- I really love just being with moms who get it. The small moments and chats with the moms. I always leave a class feeling good from the workout and validated for all the mom feels.
- Favorite class/exercise?
- Riley and I rarely miss the Saturday morning strides 360. It’s so fun to be able to workout with your little one along with other moms.
- Proudest moment?
- We’ve been working with Riley on her speech and we’ve been getting so many words finally! It’s just great seeing and hearing all the amazing progress she’s made.
- What is something that would surprise us?
- I was a long jump and triple jumper in track&field throughout all of middle school, high school, and college. I loved it. But after spending so much time in a sand pit. I’d rather hang at the pool over the beach any day now.
